My Story, My Struggle, My PTSD

In the course of the contact I had with my rapist this summer, my PTSD struggle has returned. I struggled with depression and PTSD through my first two years of college. My panic attacks overwhelmed me. By sophomore year I couldn’t make myself go to class. The crowds walking through campus unnerved me. Eventually I had to leave school.  It took a long time but I was able to overcome my PTSD and eventually return to school. I even made the Dean’s List!

Now I find myself struggling again, but I know I can get through this.  I am working with my doctor and going back to therapy.  I have done it before and I can do it again.  I will not let him come into my life after all these years and change me.

What I am trying to say is that we are all survivors. Yes, sometimes we have setbacks; sometimes we struggle. But in the end, we overcome, we heal, we live!

  2. yes… in the end, we overcome, we heal, we live. you’re not alone… not on the days you struggle and not on the days you’re strong. you’re not alone.

  3. I know just how you feel. You’re right though, you CAN do this and overcome the demons. You’re stronger than you know.

  4. Hope so’
